Konica Minolta wins prestigious environmental award

Konica Minolta Business Solutions (UK) Ltd has won the prestigious Green Apple Award in recognition of its innovative environmental project, 'OPS Green Audit Process'. The Award was presented at a ceremony held in the House of Commons, Westminster. The presentation was made by Chris Hopkins, Managing Director of Ploughcroft to Claire Ham, Quality and Environmental Manager for Konica Minolta and representatives of the Quality and Environmental team.
The Green Apple Awards are organised by The Green Organisation, an independent environment group dedicated to promoting environmental conservation. The aim of the Green Apple Awards is to recognise, reward and promote environmental best practice. Konica Minolta's awards submission for the Green Audit Process was considered by an independent panel of judges against nine criteria, including environmental benefit, innovation, economic benefit and quantative evidence of impact.

As part the Green Audit Process, Konica Minolta aims to reduce customer print fleets and volumes by installing improved efficiency devices, to reduce the environmental impact of customers' document production, with the consequent benefit of reducing operating costs. Customer businesses typically do not have the in-house resources to ascertain their current environmental performance and are able to utilise the successful Green Audit Process from Konica Minolta to calculate the amount of energy, paper and toner used by their devices. From this information, they are able to determine the amount of carbon dioxide generated and work towards a strategic plan of reductions.
