Book edge printing is new option for Komfi

Thermal laminating machine supplier Komfi has introduced its latest innovation – a book edge printing machine. Designated the imiJET BE70, the new machine is specifically designed for digital UV printing on book edges using inkjet technology.

As with its laminators, the new Komfi imiJET BE70 is robust and durable in design and construction: it is semi-automatic in operation, and features an integrated PC that provides built-in help and self-diagnostics, as well as easy job preparation. It has also been developed to provide fast and comfortable maintenance.

The printing process is a simple, one person operation via a user-friendly screen, and involves the application of either UV inks or UV varnish to all three book edges. While feeding, turning and removal of the book is undertaken manually, the pumping of the ink into the printing unit, as well as moving of the book under the printing heads and electronically controlled UV lamp, is carried out automatically.
